Mayrhofen Ski Resort Guide

Mayrhofen ski resort is actually way more than just one ski area. Buy a lift pass here and you get to explore all of the Zillertal valley (free trains with your lift pass), and can go right up to the Hintertux glacier. It’s a ridiculously varied & fun ski area. From relaxed beginner blues on the Ahorn, to beautiful, wide, easy-breezy blues and reds in Kaltenbach.

Both the Penken & the Zillertal arena have parks that are consistently rated up there with the best in Europe, and the Hintertux glacier is open 365 days a year, so you’re sure of some great, high skiing, regardless of snow fall. There’s challenging terrain & some great off piste, and the more experienced skiers will love famous (infamous?) Harakiri Black run.

Mayrhofen ski resort doesn’t take itself too seriously, and although the après & nightlife isn’t as wild as it once was, you’re guaranteed to be able to keep partying into the early hours, if that’s what you’re after. The bars are friendly and the bar staff are used to welcoming the same people back year after year.  Once you’ve spent a winter in Hof, it can be incredibly difficult to leave. Likewise, come on holiday here and you’ll be hard pressed to find a resort that’s as reasonably priced as Hof, with as much to offer.
