Yes, you can ski to Montgenèvre from Sauze — but it takes 2.5 hours each way and involves riding multiple lifts (some even going downhill). You’ll end up spending most of the day on the move, not actually skiing.

???? Morning: Leaving Sauze d’Oulx

• Meet at the Tourist Information Office at 8:15am for an 8:30am departure.

• Walk down in your normal shoes (no ski boots on the coach, but snowboard boots can be worn).

• You can bring a bag if you want. The coach stays in Montgenèvre all day.

• All ski/snowboard equipment goes in the coach’s luggage compartment.

????️ Daytime: Ski Montgenèvre

• Arrive in France just after 9am. We park just by the gondola, so you’ll be on the lift as soon as you can get your ski boots on.

• Spend the whole day skiing Montgenèvre’s open, snow-sure slopes.

• Explore one side of Montgenèvre in the morning and switch sides in the afternoon. There’s the boardercross, the snowpark and everything from gentle greens to steep and scary blacks to explore.

• Grab a coffee on the mountain, lunch down in the town or a beer on the terrace. It’s not the liveliest resort, but Montgenèvre more than makes up for that with the incredible skiing on offer.

• The coach stays parked in Montgenevre all day. You can leave items onboard, but no access until the return trip.

???? Afternoon: Back to Sauze

• Meet at the same parking area in Montgenèvre at 4:00pm for a 4:15pm departure.

• Back in Sauze d’Oulx around 5pm, just in time for après, dinner, or a well-earned rest.

To ski Montgenèvre as part of your Ski Away Day, you’ll need a Via Lattea International Lift Pass.

• If your pass is a Via Lattea lift pass valid for 6 days or more, Montgenèvre access is already included for one day. The Via Lattea Internazionale pass allows skiing in Montgenèvre for as many days as it’s valid.

• Lift 47 in Claviere marks the start of the French sector. If you’ve used that lift (or any beyond it), you’ve activated one of your French skiing days.

• If your pass doesn’t include the French side, you can buy a one day pass in Montgenèvre on arrival.

Bring your passport (or EU ID card if applicable). You’ll cross the France–Italy border.

???? Footwear & Equipment

• Ski boots: you’re can’t wear ski boots on the coach. Wear shoes & carry them separately.

• Snowboard boots: it’s fine to wear snowboard boots on the coach.

• Skis/boards/poles: go in the luggage area. Take a photo of the barcode on your equipment if it’s hired.

???? Storage

The coach remains parked in Montgenèvre and is locked during the day.
You can leave personal belongings onboard, but neither Monsguide nor the coach company accept responsibility for lost or stolen items.

⚠️ Minimum Numbers

The Ski Away Day runs with a minimum number of participants. If the trip doesn’t meet this, we’ll contact you in advance to offer alternatives or a full refund.

€25 per person — spaces are limited and fill quickly, especially during Christmas, New Year and February half term.
