Take the Ski Away Day Coach from Sauze d’Oulx to Montgenèvre and suddenly you can ski the whole Via Lattea piste map .

It’s the cheapest, quickest & easiest way to access the French resort, and our guests consistently rate it as the highlight of their holiday.

Our coach departs from Sauze d’Oulx Tourist Information Office at 8.30am.

The journey takes around 30-40 minutes and the bus will remain in Montgenèvre for the day until our departure at 4.15pm. You’ll be back in Sauze d’Oulx for around 5pm, just in time for après or a shower & a sit before dinner.

If you’re coming to Sauze d’Oulx, it’s the one activity you shouldn’t miss.

With a Via Lattea lift passes valid for 6 days or more you can ski in Montgenèvre for one day (lift 47 in Claviere is the start point of the Montgenèvre area and if you use this lift or any to the right of it on the map, you will activate your French day). 

It is possible to get to Montgenèvre directly from Sauze on your snowboard or skis, but it takes around 2.5 hours each way. A lot of that time is spent sitting on ski lifts. You’ll not only be using the chair lifts to go up, but also to go down, too. 

If you ski over to Montgenèvre you won’t get enough time to enjoy the whole of the French resort. Instead, you’ll manage to get in a few runs, maybe have time to grab a coffee before rushing back towards Sauze d’Oulx for the last gondola up from Cesana, hoping you don’t get stuck.

Information About the Sauze d’Oulx to Montgenèvre Ski Away Day Bus

We offer pick-ups in two locations –  either the Tourist Information Office in Sauze d’Oulx or in Jouvenceux. 

Leaving Sauze d’Oulx

Arrive at the Tourist Information Office at 8.15am for an 8.30am departure. The Tourist Information Office location is here

Leaving Jouvenceux

Arrive at the car park next to MADIOTTO Costruzioni e Ristrutturazioni before 8.30am. The bus leaves from Sauze d’Oulx at 8.30am and takes just a few minutes to reach Jouvenceux. You can see the exact location here 

Returning from Montgenèvre

Return to the Montgenèvre parking area at 4pm for a 4.15pm departure. The coach will drop you back in Sauze d’Oulx at the Tourist Information Office.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Passports are required as we will cross the border into France (unless you have the right to travel between France & Italy with an ID card)
• Ski boots CANNOT be worn on the coach. Please walk down in your normal shoes and carry your ski boots. Snowboard boots CAN be worn on the coach
• All ski/snowboard equipment (including ski boots & poles) must be stored in the luggage area of the coach. They cannot be taken on board the coach
• The coach will remain in Montgenèvre for the day and will be locked. You can leave your personal items on the coach but no responsibility is accepted by Monsguide or the coach company for lost or stolen items. It will not be possible to get any items from the coach once it is locked until the end of the day
• Skiing in Montgenèvre is included on your lift pass for one day IF you have a Via Lattea lift pass valid for 6 days or more. The start point of the Montgenèvre ski area is lift 47. If you have already skied across the border on a previous day, you have used up a day’s credit. If you don’t have the Montgenèvre ski area available on your lift pass you will need to purchase a lift pass for the day. Check the full details on the Via Lattea website here 
• The ski away day is subject to a minimum number of participants and may be cancelled if the minimum number is not reached. If this happens we contact you to let you know in advance, offer alternatives where possible and provide a full refund if alternatives do not suit you.
