How the saving adds up
Two discounts stack, and both are worked out against the shop's standard walk-in price. Booking online with SkiSet takes off up to 50%. MONSGUIDE adds another ten points on top of that.

The 50% is a ceiling rather than a promise — it moves with the resort and how early you book, and a quiet week in a small Italian resort will discount harder than New Year in Val d'Isère. The code costs you nothing, and the price you pay is never higher for having used it.

Is MONSGUIDE a legitimate SkiSet code?
Yes. Monsguide is an official SkiSet partner, and MONSGUIDE is the code SkiSet issued to us. It is not scraped from a voucher aggregator, it does not quietly stop working in February, and there is no minimum spend hidden behind it.
Before starting Monsguide I spent over a decade in the ski industry with Crystal Ski, finishing as an Area Manager. Crystal hire their guests' equipment through SkiSet in France, so a good deal of my working life was spent in and around SkiSet shops — on changeover days, at boot fittings, and on the occasions when something needed putting right. I have also booked SkiSet on my own holidays, with my own money, using this same code.
That is the entire basis for this page. I am not going to pretend SkiSet is flawless: at four o'clock on a changeover Saturday, any rental shop in the Alps is a scrum. What I will say is that the equipment is properly maintained, the fitters know what they are doing, and the network is large enough that there is almost always a shop a few minutes from where you are sleeping. Three things worth knowing, from the other side of the counter:
- Don't collect at 4pm on changeover SaturdayEvery transfer coach in the resort has just emptied. Go first thing, or on the evening you arrive if the shop is still open, and you will be fitted in ten minutes instead of fifty.
- If the boots hurt on day one, take them backThe commonest mistake skiers make is enduring a bad boot for a week. Shops expect swaps and will sort it — they would far rather fix it on Monday than hear about it on Friday.
- Pay the small step up in pack tierThe jump from the entry-level pack to the one above is usually a few pounds a day, and gets you a noticeably better, newer ski. It is the best-value upgrade in ski hire, and the discount makes it cheaper still.
How we make money: if you book through our SkiSet link or use the code, SkiSet pays us a commission. When to book for the lowest price
SkiSet's online discount shrinks as availability tightens, and the weeks that tighten first are the ones most people ski.
Christmas, New Year and February half term are the pinch points, in that order. Book those weeks late and you will find the deepest discounts gone, the mid-tier packs sold out in your size, and only the shop on the wrong side of the village still taking reservations. Book them early and you get the better ski, the closer shop and the bigger saving — for the same afternoon's work.

The SkiSet discount code is MONSGUIDE. It takes an extra 10% off ski and snowboard hire, or an extra 5% in Austria. Both figures are the maximum discount SkiSet allows a partner to offer in those countries, so there is no larger code available anywhere.
How do I get 60% off SkiSet?
Booking online with SkiSet rather than walking into the shop saves up to 50% against the in-resort price. Code MONSGUIDE takes a further ten percentage points off the same base price, bringing the total to up to 60%. In Austria, where the code adds five points, the total is up to 55%.
Why is the Austrian discount only 5%?
Because SkiSet caps partner discounts in Austria at 5%. It is not a choice we have made, it is the ceiling, and it applies to everyone. Any page offering you more than 5% on an Austrian SkiSet booking is quoting a code that will not apply.
Does the code expire?
No. MONSGUIDE is a standing partner code rather than a seasonal promotion, so it has no expiry date and does not need refreshing each winter. We re-check it before every season regardless.
Is there a minimum spend?
No. The discount applies to your booking whatever its value, from a single day's snowboard hire to a family of five for a fortnight.
