Useful Info – Transport, Ski Bus & Doctors in Sauze d’Oulx
Getting Around Sauze d’Oulx
Sauze d’Oulx isn’t a purpose built ski town and therefore, there’s limited access for coaches and cars. If you arrive by bus or coach, you’ll be dropped at the Tourist Info Bus Depot, and although the walk to the majority of hotels in the centre of town isn’t a huge distance, the majority of it it up a fairly steep hill. If you’re staying down in Jovenceaux, it’s at least 10-15 minutes (not in ski boots) into town, but the ski area can be accessed easily from the Jovenceaux lift. There is also the Red Line Ski Bus. Times and Ticket details can be found here.
For guests staying up in the Monfol area of Sauze, most hotels offer a free shuttle service to and from the town centre. The walk towards the Monfol hotels and apartments is a flat and easy walk, although there is no pavement on parts of the road and it is not well-lit at night.
The closest ski lift to the centre of town is Clotes, which, although uphill, is walkable within 5 minutes from the centre of town. The Sportinia lift is approximately 15 walk from town. Both Clotes and Sportinia are served by the Blu Line Ski Bus that loops around resort through the day and early evening. Details of prices and how to purchase tickets can be found here. It is always cheaper to buy tickets in advance than on the bus.
There are ski lockers available at Clotes and at some of the hire shops close to Sportinia, which is an alternative to walking with equipment to the lifts every day.

In Sauze d’Oulx, there is a dedicated emergency trauma center and medical facility to address urgent medical needs. In the event of a mountain emergency, your initial destination is likely to be the Sauze Trauma Centre, a private emergency clinic situated within the village.
Please be aware that treatment received at this facility comes with associated costs as it’s a private clinic. If, following the initial care, you are transferred to Susa Hospital or one of the hospitals in Turin, the expenses may be covered if you possess an EHIC card. It is advisable to confirm the specific details with your country’s healthcare providers for comprehensive information. You can add insurance onto your lift pass at a cost of around €3 per day. Doing so means you won’t have to pay any of the upfront costs associated with evacuation off the mountain or your initial visit to the trauma clinic.
